The much talked about national dialogue has finally ended with draft resolutions from all the 8 commissions adopted and waiting to be implemented by the head of state, seen by some as a major step to finding lasting solutions to the 3 year long running anglophone crisis.
The president has already tweeted a congratulatory message thanking Cameroonians for their firm attachment to peace, unity and progress.
A snippet of some resolutions adopted at the decentralization commission which is seen as the most important are:
A) Return of the appellation of the name, United Republic of Cameroon
B) Creating Special Status for the North West and South West regions, according to article 62 of the Constitution wherein:
1) Local administrative authorities will be elected.
2) Restoration of House of Traditional Rulers
C) Rotation of celebration of National Day in all 10 regions
D) Respect of Article 66 of the Constitution on the declaration of assets.
E) Integration of Ex-combatants into society
F) Restitute projects of reconstructing Airports and Seaports in the NWSW regions.
G) Insertion of English in parts of Presidential Speeches
