The facility is light years ahead of Cameroon’s filthy looking Kondengui prisons in Yaounde and which now hosts the same ministers who failed to improve prison conditions in the country.
Several plans have been made to construct news prisons to decongest the overcrowded and dilapidated colonial prisons across the country. Alas!

The Oveng Amseng Prison in Equatorial Guinea has a modern clinic that serves the it’s 400 inmates. The clinic supplies all the medical needs for the new prison in Equtorial Guinea. That is contrary to the infemeries in Kondengui and other prisons which are actually prisons within the prisons.
The commissioning of the Equatorial Guinea prison was done alongside two other superbly completed projects – ultra-modern hospitals.
If Equatorial Guinea, ruled by a despot can do it, why not Cameroun?
