Asked to express his opinion on a local radio station today, May 21, 2020, some Camerounese was categorical that the end of what they still refer to as THE ANGLOPHONE CRISIS is not for tomorrow. To illustrate his point, he told about a certain outgoing African head of state who apparently owes the whites a grudge today because they killed his father in front of him when he was a child. He concluded that he does not see the thousands of ANGLOPHONE CHILDREN whose parents are killed today before their own very eyes conducting themselves otherwise tomorrow…
I soon remembered my father telling me to marry any girl I loved so long as she was not white. His reason was that white people have a natural unpleasant odour. The real reason, though, is that his father, Abine, the very one I am named after, was killed by the whites during the war!
I also did vaguely remember having read somewhere sometime past that the small boy, who courageously ran up to the platform and picked up Omar Moktar’s eye-glasses that dropped from the hand when he was hanged by the Italians, was young Kadhafi. We all know what he stood for when grown up!
Coming back home so many are our leaders, especially some misguided, selfish Anglophone elite, who refuse to look beyond the tips of their noses in their unbridled pursuit of immediate sordid interests!!!
BUT the NAKED truth is that those children in refugee camps today shall grow up to seek to know what happened and why it happened.
Those children whose parents are gruesomely murdered before their very eyes today shall seek answers tomorrow.
Those children in the forest/bushes shall demand explanation as to why they had to live in the wild: why their homes were burnt; at times, with their parents/grandparents along.
Verily, I predict that no amount of money, lawful or as bribes, shall obliterate the AMBAZONIAN ANTHEM from those children’s head by the stroke of some imaginary magic wand. The example is that we still relish singing or even just humming the songs we learnt in the infant classes half a century ago! Yet are those songs we learnt in normal circumstances. What is learnt in sorrow and/or hardship, swirled with human blood, sticks far more indelibly!!!
THOSE TOYING WITH THE FUTURE TODAY MAY WISH TO THINK AGAIN! NOT JUST ‘THINK AGAIN’ BUT THINK SERIOUSLY ABOUT THE DUTY THEY OWE TO THE ANCESTORS WHO PRESERVED TODAY FOR US; AND TO POSTERITY IN RECIPROCITY: IN COMPENSATION TO THE ANCESTRAL DUTY!! THEY MAY WISH TO THINK WHETHER THEIR INFLATED EGOS ARE VIRTUES OR SINS – WHETHER CONCEIT READS FAIRLY INTO OBEDIENCE TO GOD!!!
YOU KILL; AND KILL; AND KILL GAIN! ON THE PRETEXT YOU DO NOT DIALOGUE WITH ‘TERRORISTES’!! DIFFERENCES OF OPINIONS YOU FACETIOUSLY DEFINE AS TERRORISM. YOUR BROTHER, MADE IN THE SAME IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD LIKE YOURSELF, IS DETONATED INTO SILENCE!!! AS IF GOD EVER DREW THE BOUNDARIES OF ANY ONE COUNTRY AND MADE THEM IMMUTABLE!!!!
IN ANY CASE, IS THERE ANY NEED FOR DIALOGUE WHEN THERE IS NO DISAGREEMENT???
WHOEVER IMAGINED OR IMAGINES CO-EXISTENCE CAN BE DECREED!!!
