The news was passed on to the Director General of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority, Paule Assoumou Koki, in a correspondence dated May 11, 2020, by the Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Ngalle Bibehe.
Ngalle Bibehe informs that the planes of Air France will land in Cameroon at a weekly frequency for the period from June 4 to 30, 2020 (an error has crept in the letter, which rather talks from May 4 to June 30, 2020).
The Minister requests the aeronautical authority to take all the necessary arrangements in concert with the company Aéroports du Cameroun, ASECNA (Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar) and to all administrations.
He said that passengers on said flights must present a negative Coronavirus screening test upon boarding, and subscribe to a self-containment undertaking at their expense upon their arrival in Cameroon.
Among other instructions, the Minister of Transports orders that arrangements be made for the individual follow-up of those arriving in Cameroon. He adds that Air France passengers and staff must wear masks and must comply with the barrier measures.
Air France, which states in a press release that its flights to Cameroon begin on June 15, 2020, will not spread its wings except in this area.
Countries like Benin, Ivory Coast, Niger, Togo, Guinea, Mauritania, Senegal, the two Congo, Gabon, Djibouti and the Central African Republic will once again welcome its planes from the French company from June 3 2020.
