The announcement of the 20 confirmed cases and four deaths were made known in the evening of Saturday May 9, 2020, by Dr Kingsley Che Soh, Regional delegate of Public Health for the North West.
According to him, this time around one positive case had travelled in from Yaounde, one from Kumba while seven others were infected here in the North West region by those who were already tested positive.
“The population of the North West region is hereby informed that between the 2nd and the 9th of May 2020, 70 more persons were tested in the region for COVID-19 and unfortunately we recorded nine more confirmed cases of COVID-19 including four deaths in the region since the on set of the COVID-19 pandemic”, part of the delegate’s circular stated.
