The people of Tchollire, a small town in the north region of Cameroon are in shock as wild fire burnt down part of the Tchollire District Hospital.
No loss in human life was recorded. But several medical equipment were consumed by the flames. One of the two pediatric wards in the hospital, is completely erased while another Ward and the laboratory have been seriously damaged by the flames.
Several mattresses as well as personal belongings of the patients including their drugs were devoured by the enraged flames.
The prompt reaction of the medical staff and some patients helped to stop the spread of the fire.
Informed of the incident, some CPDM activists led by Deputy Bello Liman, who were already present at the party house for the celebration of the 37th anniversary of Paul Biya’s presidency, took a quick tour of the hospital to see the damage and comfort the sick.
