Each year, vision of humanity publishes the world peace index of peace. The peace index not only makes it possible to rank the safest countries but also and above all the most dangerous countries. The ranking is based on the security situation of each country, political tensions, terrorist risk and other factors that may disturb security.

Which indicators are taken into account?
To establish this ranking, the Institute for Economy and Peace gathered no less than 23 internal and external security criteria per country. Each indicator has a coefficient which changes its weight in calculating the score.
Among the most important internal indicators are: the homicide rate, the intensity of internal conflicts, violent crimes, political instability and political terror.
Among the most important external indicators are: relations with neighboring countries, deaths due to external conflict, refugees and displaced persons, arms exports, and nuclear and heavy weapons capacities.

Which implies that Côte d’Ivoire is less dangerous than the USA. The least dangerous African countries are Botswana and Mauritius, which rank 134th and 140th respectively in this ranking.
