Military Spokesman Says Corpse Still in Mortuary
The ministry of defence has blamed the death of journalist Samuel Wazizi on “Severe Sepsis” and not from toeture and physical abuse. A statement by the head of communication in the ministry of defence generalised, Cyrille Serge Atonfack Guemo the journalist died on 17 August 2019. According to him, the family eas immediately notified but has done nothing to retrieve his body.

According to a release signed by Col. Cyrille Serge Atonfact Guemo, communication officer at the ministry of defence:
-Samuel Wazizi died at 2:13 AM on Saturday 17th August 2019 at the Military hospital in Yaounde and corpse was deposited in a mortuary in Ekounou.
-That Wazizi talked with family throughout his detention period.
-Samuel Wazizi did not die of torture.
-That Wazizi Family was duly informed of his death and asked to take the body for burial but the family neglected.
-That Wazizi was a logistic officer of three different camps of ambazonia fighters in Fako division in the South West.
-Government frowns at groups that have attributed the death of Samuel Wazizi to military torture.
