NEVER TRUST A…

In 2007 or thereabouts, a certain Jean-Jacques Ekindi joined us in the Camerounese National Assembly as an HONOURABLE member. Many did refer to him as the CHASSEUR DU LION: a lion hunter. In my judgment, he was a very busy body of the House: quite virulent in his appraisal of the management of the business of state by the CPDM government.

The moment a rumour started circulating that he was in the pole position to be appointed the board chair of the Douala Seaport, the dynamism of the day turned into nocturnal congregation with bias for the triumph of I BEFORE OTHERS.

Any residual ocular enthusiasm on the floor of the House was now ambivalent: hemmed in by surreptitious endeavours at the preservation of self-interest, and by perforated stage-management, unnoticeable only by the dull and the blind. God alone knows why things failed to come to fruition!

At the end of his tour to Parliament, The erstwhile Honourable Member of Parliament persisted in HUNTING WITH THE DOG AND RUNNING WITH THE HOUND. Practically, he did cling to anything, anybody, to stay in the limelight. For instance, he banged the door against the GRAND DIALOGUE, only to return thereto a few days later with nothing new to show to justify his return.

Again did he lean on Cardinal Tumi in the hope of acceding to the pedestal as the victor of the Anglophone War. It can be deduced that the ulterior motive was most likely the hope to chair the eventual truth and reconciliation commission after the cessation of hostilities.

When that too ended in a fiasco, he quickly endorsed Mr. Biya’s candidacy in the 2018 Presidential Election as a member of the infamous G20. SO EXTREMELY CURIOUS! Why head an opposition party if all is already well with the ruling party? Any normal person, with no particular interest to preserve would simply join or return to the ruling party, of course!

As the desire to get on to the pedestal remained elusive after the cabinet reshuffle following the election, Mr. Man had no choice but to quit sitting on the fence!!! And the foundation of this novel hope is discernible.

If in his pronouncement Mr. Man raised the Anglophone War as one of the reasons for his returning to the CPDM, he surely has been prompted by the recent social media publications to the effect that there shall be a government of national unity, including some prominent Ambazonian leaders. As a person who has joined the Cardinal in the effort to resolve the Ambazonian teething puzzle, he too would be counted. Failure to become a member of government, he could well chair the truth and reconciliation commission – compensating for his having lost out at the Douala Seaport project.

It seems nothing short of claptrap to blame the failure of the opposition, of which he has been a prominent member for ages, as the reason for his returning to the CPDM in the heat of the current positioning! His UNBRIDLED AMBITION to promote SELF-INTEREST is far too gargantuan to seek to conceal it in such negligible frivolity and inconsequential triviality!

Without judging anyone, I must say, without mincing words, that, in my political career, I have met many politicians of a certain BLACK AFRICAN country, not so distant from the Equator. None I do remember that never TREMBLED before POWER and MONEY!

MAY THE CAP REST WHERE IT FITS!

SHEGEH!
