Cameroon – Fight against Covid-19: The World Health Organization offers 14 vehicles to the Cameroonian government

The governor of the Center received the cars this April 28, 2020 in Yaoundé. New support for Cameroon in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic donated by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The official key handover ceremony held on April 28, 2020 at the esplanade of the Centre governor’s office.




“The Center needed these vehicles. We have remote and landlocked localities like Ngambe Tikar, Like Yoko and others. So the need was huge for us. We want to say thank you to WHO. As a good observer and a good guide, who came to our aid with 14 vehicles and as many drivers and fuel support”, rejoiced the governor of the center region, Paul Naseri Bea. This donation from WHO is part of the support to the Ministry of Public Health, engaged in the battle against Covid-19 and in the strategy to decentralize the management of the disease.




“You know very well that the Center region is the region most affected by the Covid-19 epidemic with more than 1,000 cases. And it is for this reason that we could not remain without supporting the health region in order to control this epidemic”, said Christian Itama, WHO representative at this ceremony.

The governor of the Center also received the special donation of the Head of State, intended for the 70 districts of the region.
