Amba Gunners Hit Four Soldiers in Tombel

Four soldiers have been shot and wounded in Tombel, district headquarter of Koupemuaneguba disvision. The men survived the attack and were rushed to hospital and treated of minor wounds.

Ambazonia Republic shooters are suspected of careyinf out the attack at the Tombel grandstand where youth day parades to commemorate the National Youth Day took place.

The administrative authorities and dignitaries had just left the ceremonial grounds for “item 11” or merry making with food and drinks.

It would appear the armed civilian combatants chose to strike at a moment when the soldiers had relaxed their vigilance after the march past ended and the Big people had left. The incident created panic and the few people who were still around the parade ground fled in confused ranks.

The incident happened just days after suspected Amba Boys shot at the Tombel home of Prof. Elvis Ngolle Ngolle who led the ruling CPDM party campaigns in the area. He was at home at the time with two gendarmes on guard. No one was hurt.

The gendarmes did not return fire. No reinforcement was made at the former forestry minister’s compound after the shootings. He would finally vote about an hour later before leaving Tombel. The Voice has learnt that more troops have been drafted to the locality, from Loum in the Littoral region.
